Project: Joseph’s Cup - Coffee Shop Rebrand, Identity, & Digital Presence

Client Overview

The client owns and operates multiple coffee shop concepts and is seeking to rebrand an existing location under the name and direction of another shop they own. The goal is to create a cohesive, flexible brand system that works across physical, digital, and experiential touchpoints, while positioning the shop for long‑term growth and consistency.

PART ONE

BRAND IDENTITY, MESSAGING & DIGITAL EXECUTION

This scope covers brand strategy, messaging, visual identity, applied branding for the physical space, and the design and build of a basic Squarespace website. The branding portion of this project will be completed in January, with remaining deliverables rolling out afterward per the timeline below.

Phase 1: Brand Strategy & Messaging

Timeline: January

Deliverables:

  • Brand discovery & alignment session

  • Brand positioning statement

  • Brand voice & tone guidelines

  • Core messaging pillars

  • Tagline exploration (if applicable)

Outcome:
A clear strategic foundation that informs all visual and verbal brand decisions.

Phase 2: Visual Identity System

Timeline: January

Deliverables:

  • Primary logo

  • Secondary and alternate logo variations

  • Icon or brand mark (if applicable)

  • Color palette

  • Typography system (primary and secondary fonts)

  • Supporting graphic elements or patterns

  • Brand usage guidelines (logo usage, spacing, color rules)

Outcome:
A complete visual identity system designed for consistency and scalability across all brand touchpoints.

Phase 3: Environmental & In‑Store Brand Applications

Timeline: February

Design Deliverables (Design Only):

  • TV menu layouts (static designs)

  • Table tents / table cards

  • Core signage concepts (interior and exterior as applicable)

  • Merchandise design concepts (e.g., apparel, mugs)

Notes:

  • Deliverables include production‑ready design files

  • Printing, fabrication, installation, and vendor coordination are not included

Phase 4: Website Design & Build (Squarespace)

Timeline: February

Deliverables:

  • Website structure and sitemap

  • Visual design aligned with the approved brand system

  • Build of a basic Squarespace website (up to 6 pages)

  • Mobile optimization

  • Basic SEO setup (page titles and descriptions)

Notes:

  • Copy will be provided by the client or collaboratively refined from Phase 1 messaging

  • E‑commerce functionality, advanced integrations, or ongoing maintenance are not included

What’s Included

  • Project management across all phases

  • Two rounds of revisions per phase

  • Delivery of final, production‑ready files

What’s Not Included

  • Printing, fabrication, or installation

  • Photography or video production

  • Ongoing marketing or social media management

  • Equipment consulting or interior layout guidance (see Part Two)

PAYMENT TERMS

Total Project Investment: $10,000

To balance flexibility with proper resourcing of the work, the following hybrid payment structure applies:

  • $3,500 due at project kickoff

  • $1,300 per month for five (5) consecutive months

This structure allows branding and identity work to be completed in January while spreading remaining payments over time.

Payment Schedule:

  • Month 1 (Kickoff): $3,500

  • Month 2: $1,300

  • Month 3: $1,300

  • Month 4: $1,300

  • Month 5: $1,300

  • Month 6: $1,300

Important Notes:

  • Work will not begin until the initial payment is received

  • January branding deliverables are prioritized and scheduled based on the upfront payment

  • Late payments may pause work and delay deliverables

Project Cancellation or Pause

In the event the project is terminated prior to completion, all completed work will be billed and payable immediately, along with a 40% kill fee on the remaining balance to account for reserved time and project planning. If the project is paused for more than 30 days due to client delays or non-responsiveness, the project may be considered terminated and subject to the cancellation terms above unless otherwise agreed in writing.

PART TWO

COFFEE SHOP CONSULTING

Consulting Scope

Consulting services related to the physical and operational aspects of the coffee shop are not included in the branding scope and will be handled under a separate agreement.

This may include:

  • Coffee equipment consultation

  • Interior layout and workflow guidance

  • Furniture recommendations

  • Vendor and sourcing advice

  • General advisory support related to the physical space

Consulting Rate

  • $100 per hour

  • Billed monthly

  • Time tracked and summarized

Optional structures may include monthly hour caps or prepaid consulting blocks if desired.

Additional Terms

  • This scope includes two (2) rounds of revisions per phase; additional revisions may be billed separately

  • Any work outside the scope outlined above will require written approval and may be billed additionally

  • Ownership of final deliverables transfers to the client upon final payment

  • Acceptance of this proposal indicates agreement to the scope, timeline, and payment terms outlined above.
